From late 18th cemtury to 1919 wies/village Czulowice was hamlet size. Rudki was the powiat (county) and Komarno was the gmina (judicial/tax district)> Lemberg/Lwow/Lviv region > Galicia Province, administered by ethnic Poles for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. During Interwar Period this region came under Reconstituted Poland's domain. Technically Poland had not existed as a geopolitical entity for the previous 125+ yrs. Post WW2 region became a part of SSR Ukraine until 1991, when Ukraine became independent.

By 1938, most ethnic Germans were evacuated and resettled. In order to qualify for resettlement, one had to be literate in German and prove several generations
of German ethnicity. EWZ Films are very valuable in filling in several generations.
