I used Familytreedna only because they seem the most popular. I was a bit unimpressed with the results, a bit vague and from what I've been reading dna testing isn't totally reliable yet. You have to do a lot of research with your results and upload the data to other websites for more comparisons with other people. I have a lot of matches on my Ukrainian side with Germans, English, Scots etc., I think it's either 50 generations back or because of some other strange reasons. I had 67 markers tested on y-dna and only one match with 12 markers which doesn't tell you a lot. I have matched two people on the FamilyFinder on FTDNA and we connected surnames so in that regard it works.
