I went to the GRHS website, and did a search, but the format is laid out a little differently than I'm used to. Will the website be helpful if they (Jacob Hirsch and his family) were born in Ukraine, and not in North America? Do you have any suggestions as far as which ships I might look at for immigration? Census information indicates they came to Canada in 1891, I'm assuming from Odesssa.

For me, right now, I'm looking for Romuald Garmus's birth info (he was apparently Lithuanian though)

His wife Lucia (Jacob's brother, Romuald's wife), born in Odessa, 1869-1870, in Canada at least as early as 1891

Birth info and immigration info for both. There was a 10 yr age gap between them, and I tend to believe there were probably more siblings. Whether or not they all came over, and at what time, I have no idea.

Did most German Ukrainians sail from Odessa? Thanks again!
