Dear Susan!
Maybe your family Yakivchuk really comes from the village Horoshova?
Last name Yakivchuk in Horoshova was very common.

I checked the Greek-Catholic Metric books Horoshova for 1890-1907.
Expressed birthday two Vasil Yakivchuk.

- April 11, 1894 was born Vasil Yaivchuk (in the metric Basilius Jakiwczuk). His parents:
Georgius (son of Joannes and Euphrosina Huska)
Parasceva Jaremij (daughter Conradus and Maria)
The family lived in Horoshova in house number 55.

- December 25, 1899 was born Vasil Yakivchuk (Basilius Jakiwczuk). His parents:
Georgius (son of Demetrius and Anna Iwanow)
Xenia Jaremij (daughter of Jacobus and Maria Szeremeta)
The family lived in Horoshova in house number 217.

Last name Chryk common in village Ozeryany (also Borschiv district)!

Ihor
