Borshchiv is a town situated in the Borshchivskyi raion (district), Ternopilska oblast (province). At the time your ancestors immigrated, it was Galicia, ruled by Austro-Hungarian Empire (1867 to 1918).
Meacham... Melfort? It more than likely was the Humboldt area.

There you will find Wasyl Jakiwczyk = William Jakiwchuk. Section 18, Township 36, Range 27, Meridan W2
You may want to get a copy of that record, most of them have some great information, that may be of interest to you.
I also checked the SK census. I did some work on those, a few years back. The name was translated as "Jakiwchyk", a correction was made, and shows as "Jakiwchuk". Is this your family? If not, I can check further.

View the originial copy. It does not mention the name place in Ukraine. It does say, "Galicia; Ruthenian (Ukrainian); and Greek (Ukrainian) Catholic.

I checked Ellis Island for your family name, and only came up with a few from Horoshova, Borshchiv area. I checked, and there are Jakiwczuk (Polish); Yakivchuk (Ukrainian), still living in Horoshova. There are also Yakivchuk's living in other villages in the Borshchiv area. So in order to get more information on your family, you will have to keep searching to find the name of the place your ancestors immigrated from. Once you have that, you can rent films from LDS and find all the information you need, on yor family.
