Notice map. Kobylnica Woloska sits right on the border between what is Poland and Ukraine today.
From late 18th century to 1919 wies/village Kobylnica Woloska (Ukrainian portion of village was called Russka) was
predominantly Ruthenian/Ukrainian w/its own Greek Catholic. The filial RC church was in Fehlbach and the filial
Jewish Kahal was in Wielki Oczy. Jaworow was the powiat (adm district /county) and the Krakowiec was the gmina
(judicial-tax district) > Lwowskie/Lemberg (today Lviv) region > Historic Galicia/Halyczyna Province, administered by ethnic Poles for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Anyone emigrating from this immediate area in this time frame would have been coming from Austria. During the Interwar Period (1918-1939) this region became a part of Reconstituted Poland's domain. Technically the Kingdom of Poland had stopped existing as a geopolitical entity appx 125 yrs previously. Post WW2 as per agreement between Soviet Union and Communist Poland, Jaworow continued under Polish domain. By 1947 most Ukrainians living in this Polish territory, if not repatriated to SSR Ukraine, under Soviet domain , were resettled to what was once Prussian-German territory within then-Poland. Many Ukrainian Churches (both Orthodox and Greek Catholic) were destroyed
and church records were burned by the Poles.
Following is short read that will help you clarify the geopolitics of this part of Eastern Europe.
There are some very old church (death) records for Kobylnica Woloska that have been filmed by LDS, but they will not be helpful to your research because of the gap. I will take a look and see where other records might be.
