Sam Senyk, Zbaraz, Polan 1886

I am trying to find information on my great-grandfather. His US WWII draft card lists his city of birth as Zbaraz, Poland and he was born September 15, 1886. I have a 1930 US Census that says Sam Senyk as well. I know he was in Chicago, IL by 1927 when he adopted my grandmother with his wife Helen Peleszko.

My assumption is his first name was changed, why I do not know. If anyone has information, or even ideas I would welcome it.

My ultimate goal is to find my grandmother's birth family, but I need to know more about Sam and Helen. I only know she was 2 when they took her in, and it was through a Roman Catholic Church in the city of Chicago.
