Hi Robert,
the fathers of both persons should be on the marriage cert. - I couldn't trace this marriage in Kent. The Gascoignes arrived in New South wales in Oct. 1848, with three children, on assisted passage. The youngest two are shown as born in Calais, France. Ellen Biddulph Gascoigne is listed as born in Loodgebury, Staffordshire - place not traced, maybe due to her accent causing poor record. Husband gives Nottingham as birthplace.
