Hi William, I've had a look at the actual 1851 Census records and Andrew and Martha were living Davison's Court, Red Bank, with Alice Brown aged 28? years and Margaret E. Brown aged 2 years, no males. Andrew is listed as a Store Keepers Assistant, which would tie in with his stated occupation on the 1871 Census as a Salesman. The only niggling doubt is the name Martha, it does not appear again anywhere in the family. The 1861 Census did throw up another child Eliza who never made it to OZ. All is not lost however, I can get a copy of Andrew's (NSW) Death Certificate and hopefully it will show who his mother was, assuming the informant knew that. Thank you for your help. Cheers, Sue Simmonds.
