Thanks Sandra for your reply.The last surviving member of family who knew George, my mother is quite elderly, & has an overwhelming urge to contact George. Sorry but no birth date or place. Family first met George in the 1940's during WWII in Egypt, where he was working as an aeronautic engineer/mechanic, either for royal air force, or for private enterprise, whether he flew, not sure. When the family left Egypt hastily, to immigrate to Australia, they kept in contact with George, writing to him in Bristol, UK, and Salisbury, mum doesn’t think in UK, but in Sth Africa. I acknowledge this info is rather limited, but it is all I have, and I really do need to help mum get past this.
