Hi David, With your info I found a bit more. PARISH OF ST. LEONARD SHOREDITCH, MIDDLESEX JULY 15, 1839 JOHN GILL, of full age, widower, template maker Residence: Brunes Street Father: Henry Gill, deceased, tobacconist ELIZA HAMMOND, of full age, spinster Residence: Reform Place Father: William Hammond, Pewterer In the presence of David Hammond and Matilda Hammone (her mark) The occupation of William Hammond is hard to read so not sure, also the residence of John Gill - not sure I have it right. CHRISTCHURCH NEWGATE, CITY OF LONDON - 1840 Nov. 1, 1840 SAMUEL HAMMOND of full age, bachelor, Pewtorer (not sure but this is what it looks like) Residence: 42 Coppice Row Father: William Hammond, turner SUSANNAH STEPHENS of full age, spinster Residence: 15 Myredill St. (can't read next bit) Father: John Stephens, tin plate worker in presence of Thomas Croydon and Sarah Baldwin As both William and Eleanor's deaths showed them living at Coppice Row perhaps they lived with their son Samuel. Its too bad they just say of full age rather than giving their actual age which would be of some help in searching for them. 1841 GOSWELL STREET, ST JAMES CLERKENWELL, MIDDLESEX HAMMOND Samuel, age 20, pewterer, born Middlesex Susannah, age 20, born Middlesex 1851 KENTISH TOWN, ST. Maybe Emma had married and Susannah may have died?? 1901 ST. JOHN, ST MARYLEBONE, LONDON - 8 NEW STREET HAMMOND Samuel, age 58, grocer & shopkeeper, born Clerkenwell Margaret, wife, age 56, born Cambridge As first Samuel is in 1851 census but not 1861 when Susannah is shown as a widow he must have died between 1851 and 1861. I looked for his death and found possibles for St. Pancras where they lived SAMUEL HAMMOND - Jul/Aug/Sept 1852 and SAMUEL HAMMOND - Jan/Feb/Mar 1854 and SAMUEL HAMMOND- Apr/May/Jun 1859 - there are two and SAMUEL WILLIAM HAMMOND - Apr/May/June 1858 so lots to choose from and no way to know which is right without seeing the records. These are from BMD index I found one death for a Susannah Hammond that may be she. I'm stuck on John and Eliza Gill too - there are a lot of Johns and Elizas but none together that fit. Do you know names of any of their children? I still had no luck in finding marriages for George and Henry either.I haven't figured out how to find parents of William and Eleanor. Carolyn L Notify Administrator about this message?
