My mum was born 21/11/1928 in Glasgow,She had an elder brother Alexander (known as Sandy) born the year before and a sister Ailsa born 10 yrs later. My mum,her mother and Ailsa emigrated here in 1954 following the death of my grandfather Mark Pringle of Cerebral Meningits and Sandy( with his wife Pear Gallagher) also emigrated some time later.Sandy was a member of the Black Watch so I was told and my mum trained a a nurse in Scotland.My grandfather Mark was I think a singnal man and they lived on railway stations both in Scotland and England.My grandmother Grace(Boyd) was killed here in a car accident in the late 50's. Ailsa died in 1993 of cancer, mum in 1994 of C.O.P.D and Sandy in 1995 of a blood clot following surgery.I am just trying to piece together all the info I can remember from the stories mum told so it may be very disjointed .Grace's father was a dentist and her wishes were to have her ashes scatterd at Great Harwood. Her ashes have been lost and i plan to try and find them so I can forfill her wishes and also find my grandfathers grave in Glasgow so I can scatter mum with him. I know very little of Sandy's life here or in Scotland.I hope this helps with a bit more info.When my cousin sends up the family Bible I will be able to fill in some more gaps.
