Hi Donna
Just come across your posting.
Don't know if it is of any help but the Sladden name is very prominent on the Isle of Thanet, one line of the Sladden family were Builders and their name can still be seen on the wall of a side of a building just as you go from Canterbury over to the Isle of Thanet where the river Sturry is the dividing line.A Sladden is commemerated on the War Memorial in Canterbury Centre, also if you every visit Canterbury make an appointment to attend the Studies Library in the Cathedrial cloisters, you may find this informative.Another line of the family were farmers and were situate at St. Nicholas at Wade (on the Isle of Thanet) and the family name can be traced back to 1760's on the Island.
Possibility is that they may have built the Villa, again have you tried to see if the Building Office of the local council can help - this might be a long shot -
