I would like to find more of the Uhlfelder side of my family. I know the ID's and most locations of all descendants's of my Great-great-Grandfather Jacob Uhlfelder, born in Bavaria about 1840, imigrated to Warrenton Virginia 1858/1859, joined the 49th VA Inf (Extra Billy's Boys) 1861. At first Manassas, Gettysburg (extreme Confederate left), South Mountain, Harpers Ferry, Wilderness, Petersburg, and on the roster of surrendered Confederates at Appomatox Court House 1865.
Married Marie Block of Strassbourg, Alsace, France.
He died in Chilicothe MO about 1884 and is buried in the Mt. Sinai section of the Evergreen Cemetery.
Two sons/three daughters (Fannie, David, Lena, Samuel & Carrie):
Fannie Uhlfelder Purvis d. 1954
My Great-Grandmother. Had two sons who died without issue. and Three daughters.
David U. Franke d. ca 1936
Son David Franke now living in Guthrie OK.
Son Max Franke, died in OK City OK last year. One grandson, through Max, David Franke (now last of the "Uhlfelders") in OK City.
Lena U. Franke Jankowski d. 1950's
Two sons now in Illinois, both going by the name Janson.
Samuel U. Franke
One son, Samuel Franke, died without issue.
Carrie U. Franke Bernstein Letterman
Son Jerome Bernstein. d. ca. 1992 OK City
Son Irwin Bernstein of Enid OK.
Jerome Bernstein's son is Jay Bernstein who produced the "Mike Hammer" TV series.
I guess we need to be lucky enough that Jacob shows up on some obscure genealogy that hopefully one of you has.
