Uhlfelder Family Genealogy Forum

Thank you. I will look forward to the infomation you provide. I am trying to remember where I saw Erlangen in my research.
Addie Seligman, the daughter of a prominent Jewish banking family married Herbert Uhlfelder, son of Samuel. I was only certain of his US birth when I found a 1860 census record. Maybe I read about Erlangen when researching that family. The Seligmans started out as dry goods peddlers and the connection with the Uhlfelders may have been as early as their days in NY.
Herman's name was misspelled which made it difficult to verify. His brother Manfred is listed as well. I was convinced it was the same family by comparing it to a May 17, 1935 passenger ship record for Henry's daughter Erna entering into the USA. She used Manfred Uhlfelder as a contact. She married Paul (Rosenberg) changed to Rhodes in 1936.
Herman, now Henry returned to Germany at some time and re-entered the US by 1938.
