Amos Edwin Uhler was my gr. grandfather. He lived in Maunk Chunck for 5 years after the Civil War. (Why, I do not know) He served in the 129th Volunteers, 11 months, 5th Corps of Army of the Potomac. He was born in Plainfield Twp., Northampton County in 1844, son of Frederick and Elizabeth Uhler. He died Oct. 5, 1926 in Allentown, PA. In 1870 he married Catharine Price and had 12 children. I have been unable to find any data on the whereabouts of her Grandparents Price, and have been searching now for over 20 years. Amos E. Uhler served in the Battles of: 2nd Bull Run, So. Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. Was a Civil War prisoner, sent to Libby Prison in Richmond, Va. A captain at U.S.Fort on the Rappahannock River. Was paroled to Annapolis Camp and discharged, May 26, 1863. He received a pension in 1888. I believe I gave you this data previously. Any questions, please respond direct to me. --Marianne
