Have found the family through access to the census records. Bernard was listed as a splicer, Micheal my grandfather was a laborer.
My great grandfather, another, Micheal was a fireboat captain for New York City Fire Dept.
Grandmother Mildred Uhl, is still something of a problem isolating her. As I have two families with Mildreds that are the right age. She would have been living in the boroughs of New York City. Her and Micheal had ten children together. Three are now deceased John, Micheal, & Larry.
