I am decended from Jacob & Catherine KORNS KIMERER, the parents of Elizabeth KIMERER who married Jacob UHL. Am also descended from the DAVENPORT line. My decendancy is from Michael KORNS KIMERER, a younger brother of Elizabeth (Betsy). Michael married Nancy DAVENPORT in Wayne Co., OH and both died in Oquawka, Henderson County, IL between 1846-1848, leaving 8 children. Several of Nancy's brothers lived in Henderson Co. IL and in Louisa Co. and Osceola Co., IA. I have a lot of info on the children of Michael and Nancy, and quite a bit on the DAVENPORTs. Samuel DAVENPORT was the husband of Rebecca KIMERER, another child of Jacob & Catherine KORNS KIMERER. I have only 13 children listed for Jacob & Catherine, but your June 21, 2002 reply to Sharon Tabor said that Elizabeth (called Betsy) "was the oldest of 16 children". Do you have the names of these children? I know that Elizabeth was the first-born and I show Michael as child #6.
As I am interested in gleaning information regarding as many of the children as possible (to make a family chart for each), I would be happy to correspond and exchange information on this KIMERER-DAVENPORT line.
Regarding the UHL family, I believe there were 3 UHL brothers that came to the US - one died in the Revolutionary War...is this correct? And do you know if these families were Amish or Mennonite? I know my KIMERERs and DAVENPORTs were from Penna.
Hoping to hear from you. Please E-mail me direct. Thank you.
Rosemary Wade
