Footnotes When Date is Year Only
Posted by: Ken Healy (ID *****9075) Date: June 11, 2003 at 11:09:20

About 10 days ago I posted a message on this subject and there have been no replies. Perhaps if I re-word my question I will be more successful.

When entering dates in Event screens frequently one will know only the year. When that happens I enter the source into the "Year" source space - not the space for the overall date. Even though I create a footnote by clicking on the footnote bar no footnote seems to be generated (or at least, printed). I do not want to use the source box for the overall date, which does generate a footnote, because if I later find the full date and leave the source I entered for the year only, it will print as though both the original source and the new source apply, which is not the case.

What is the point in having the capability to enter a source for the year only when it will not generate a footnote?

Ken Healy
