ruth- i tried that as soon as i loaded the 3.0 onto the xp computer-NO luck. got so frustrated and irked that i just went ahead and downloaded Legacy Deluxe,

for anyone unsure about Legacy, I can definately say that inputing info is ALOT easier with Legacy than UFT (i did professional enter on uft). i really liked that they offer FREE upgrades (unlike FTM), and seem to be staying around (unlike UFT).

i was lucky to have a gedcom from just before my computer crashed for the last time to input into legacy. while i have to go back and reinput allmy source records and additional events (ie census), and make sure all siblings are in, i'm being positive and taking it as an opportunity to verify info i had in computer and to see where my holes are (ie place of death/death certificates).

thanks for the help- i'm sure the local library will make use of my old UFT programs!

nic
