Phoebe-
I don't want to "String" anybody along and make it sound like I actually use any of these programs, but if I had your problem, I would probably export two Gedcoms: One each from UFT and TMG. Then I would open each in Word to see the differences.

Then I might do a Search and Replace in Word on the TMG Gedcom to make it look like the UFT Gedcom.

For instance,
1790 Census (in TMG) might become
Census 1790 (in UFT)
