GEDCOM tags, from TMG to UFT

After searching through the forum, it appears that my problem is the opposite of most. I really like the way the UFT Family Group Sheets print out, with the relationship at the bottom and the notes concisely following the family info. I am now using TMG 5.6, and while the Family Groups Sheets are nice, I would like to print them instead in UFT. The problem is -- When I created a GEDCOM file in TMG and imported it to UFT, not all of my census, military and miscellaneous events are imported. The GEDCOM tags for each of these in TMG conform to the list of acceptable GEDCOM tags. For instance, in both programs the events are called "1790 census", "1800 census", etc., and in TMG the GEDCOM tag is "CENS" as prescribed. But in UFT, although I do have one even called CENSUS, and the GEDCOM is CENS, I have all of the other census events titled with the year, and the GEDCOM for these are "CE1790", "CE1800". UFT is very pick about the GEDCOM tag, and won't let me duplicate it, even though there are numerous events I want to label with the GEDCOM "CENS", or "MISC" for the military events. I wonder if the problem is in the name of the event not corresponding to the same event's GEDCOM name in UFT. Why doesn't it just import to the general CENS GEDCOM tag type? I hope I have been clear in stating this, as it seems rather complicated. Is there any way I can fix this problem?
