I can think of at least 3 good reasons to not have the footnotes included:

1) Space. For quite awhile my page was on AOL where space was very limited. I simply didn't have room for the footnotes.

2) Sloooowww loading. UFT puts ALL footnotes in a single file which can get so large that it doesn't load in a reasonable time.

3) Privacy. Many of my sources are living people. My personal UFT database includes their names, snail mail addresses, telephone numbers and/or email addresses. Some of these people object to that information being on the web.
