You might look at The Master Genealogist at http://www.whollygenes.com

This program has the ability to import UFT files by reading the UFT data directly and putting it into TMG database.

Version 4 of TMG will import Roots III through UFT 3.1 data.

Version 5 of TMG will import Roots IV through UFT 3.1 data.

If your data is older you may want to see if you can find a version of UFT that will update the data you have and then import it directly into TMG. (There is a UK version of TMG).

If you wish to transfer your data via GEDCOM you must find a UFT program to generate the GEDCOM and the import it into the new program. Before you consider this you may wish to view the problems encountered with GEDCOM vs. the TMG process GenBridge. See http://www.whollygenes.com/downloads.htm and click on "A case study of GEDCOM vs. GenBridge"
