Well said. However, with your understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of more than one Genealogy program, you might try one more time to ge UFT 2.0/2.8 to load. Many, many, people were still using UFT 1.0 and 2.0 to upload to the UFT website even after UFT 3.0 was released. You may have been one of them.
One thing that users noted during the less than perfect UFT 3.0 upgrade period (be sure to download the 3.1 patch NOW)was that reinstalling a lower numbered version caused the registry to point to the latest chronological installation and screw things up. Make sure that you did not reinstall 2.0 over 2.8, and try, try again.
Also, be aware that the "slowstart patch" available for download on the Uftree.com site may be different from the "Foxpro" patch available on Microsoft.com, and that the two might conflict. The version internalized in UFT 3.0 may be different, still.
