The conversion process from UFT to FTM uses the GEDCOM process. There is a comparison between GEDCOM and the GenBridge process that TMG uses to convert various databases to TMG database.

This comparison uses as an example the conversion of UFT TO TMG and is worth looking at if you are considering using GEDCOM and expect to have most of your data transfered.
