Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

The URL that Bob is referring to, I believe, is at:
http://www.uftree.com/UFT/UFTProductInfo/TechSupport/maintenance5.html

If you plan to GEDCOM your UFT data to Ancestry's program, you will probably lose some information. GEDCOM just doesn't cut it. That's why most of the UFT users are migrating to The Master Genealogist (TMG). Everything transfers nicely via the GenBridge program (no GEDCOM needed)

If you Export via GedCom with version 2.8, You might do best to use the Family5.3+ option. The programmers suggested at one time that if you are transferring to another genealogy program this is probably the best. HOWEVER< Miscellaneous and Medical information is not exported. Individual Text Footnote, Event Text Footnote and Research Notes information also is not exported. No media files are included, either.

Best of luck!
