My computer and much of my software is old, in Computer Years. I have used the UFT problems with fast computers as an excuse not to upgrade past a Pentium 150 with Win95. But when the C partition of my hard drive filled up, I let Norton Disk Doctor 2.0 scan the disk prior to moving some files.
I believe, but cannot confirm, that this version of NDD does not properly handle a surface scan. It may be that it does not recognize previously blocked out bad sectors.I lost some jpeg files.
So I would suggest that you may be better off not letting Disk Doctor 2.0 do a surface scan of your hard drive if there are any known bad sectors. (This problem may be exacerbated by the proprietary Western Digital partitioning software that works around the Win95 2 gigabyte limitation.)
