UFT blind to Browser IE 5.5

I have UFT version 2.3 which I updated to version 2.8. I keep getting an Error message "Unsupported browser. Please install supported browser and run Browser Setup." I tried the instructions posted in posting # 8110, Sept 15, 2001. However, I still get the same error message. Do I need to re-boot my computer after doing this or what should I do? Thank you for your assistance.
