Roots3 Insufficient Memory Overcome

After two weeks of trying to figure out how to boot up my Roots3 software and Wickham.edb database on my Solo 3300 Win98SE laptop, I have come to an answer of sorts.

My database has 7000 plus names. Because such a small area of Windows 98SE memory is dedicated to DOS (106kb with the largest block being 54kb) I am going to split my database and be done with it. I've already loaded my smaller roots3 databases and they work fine.

Some ideas that haven't followed their full course are downloading and installing QEMM386 by Quarterdeck Software. I believe it is currently owned by Symantec, whose website appears to have patches and downloads. There's also a software that expands memory so that DOS games can be played in Windows environments. I can't put my finger on it at the moment, but it's called something like Pay2play. I'll post the name. Both of these are a few years old.
