Your best bet is to reload the SQZ file then open the GEDCOM and or evidence file in Notepad to see what may be missing that you might be able to cut and paste back into the UFT program.

GEDCOM files - as you noticed, are missing quite a bit of information from your database. The evidence file is NOT a PRO file and your changing the file extension will not make it one. You should be able to open the evidence file in notepad or MSwrite, as a text file and be able to cut and paste out of it into you new UFT.

There is no correct way to merge these three file except with a lot of sweat and keyboard time. Once you have your UFT updated, be sure to make another SQZ file as Ruth M. stated so you have a good back-up if you computer goes down again.

Good Luck!
