You might also be aware that the projects should be on the same drive (i.e., C:) on both computers. The following info is copied from our web site article on backups (if you need further, you can find the link at http://rug1.tripod.com/)

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN MAKING A BACKUP
Most users don't know that the .PRO file is just a control file which has pointers to the files. Copying this file only does not back up your data.

Because of the file structure within the Ultimate Family Tree program, the project, library and multimedia files all need to be backed up separately. If you back up both the project and the library files together, they will restore to the same directory. If you have only one project and the project and library files are stored on the same drive, then it's okay to make a backup that includes the project and library files. Otherwise, files should be separated (by projects and drives) in the backup.

Melissa Cox, from Tech Support, recently explained this more clearly. Let's say that you have your project files on one drive and the library files on another. The backup doesn't recognize drives, only directories. So if you back up a project that is on the C: drive and a library that is on a D: together in one SQZ file and then go to restore it, during the restore it will ask you what drive you want to restore it to, and you'll end up restoring the backup to either the C: or the D: drive--NOT BOTH. (Thanks, Melissa!)

So, remember to enter a different file name for each separate backup. For instance, you might call the project backup PROJECT.SQZ, the library backup LIBRARY.SQZ and the media files MEDIA.SQZ.
