Hi Bob,

I call a truce. Regardless of who was right or wrong originally, it is finally working for me now thanks to a file that Dorothy of TMG tech support sent to me yesterday.

I publicly thank Wholly Genes for helping me solve the problem. I won't brag about the speed of the help, but I can see now that perhaps we had some miscommunication. Barring any major problems with ver 5.0, I will be a TMG customer.

Sure hoping those source abbreviations can be longer in ver 5.0...

Bob, I will attempt to resend the private email regarding sources, perhaps with some revisions due to the recent fix.

BTW, despite our little side discussion, my original question to the forum still stands. I still would like to know if there are any other genealogy software packages that are event-based besides TMG and UFT.
