The way you describe the box, it may be an older version of UFT. If it has 3.0 on the box, it is the latest version that was sold and you can upgrade it to version 3.1 for free.

If it does not have 3.0 on the box it is version 2.9 or older. If it is older than 2.8, you can upggggrade it to version 2.8 for free.

I personally would order TMG. If you have the disk of UFT you can still get a 20% discount from UFT which is around $20.00 so the money you spent on UFT will not be wasted. You can also order TMG from various vendors at a discoung at various times without the UFT CD.
