You can install it in a new directory (e.g. UFT3) so you can keep your old copy - which you should do anyway if you want to create Family Journal reports and you use citations in text fields. UFT 3.0 messes up some FJ reports, but older versions of FJ are ok. You can easily access your data base in your current installation - we still have our data in a Roots IV data base and sometimes use Roots IV with no apparent problems.
UFT 3 has a global find/replace feature. I don't know if it will help with your unwanted flags, but you might try it out (or maybe Melissa or Blue have experience in that area). UFT 3 also has a few neat new reports that do work.
