There's a lot of email that we're working through.

What message are you getting when trying to install the 3.10 update? And which version of 3.0 did you install? The update instructions include how to check the version you installed to make sure you download the right version of the updater, correct?

UFT sets no registry keys itself. The installer does. It sets them at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\App Paths\uftree.exe where there is a {Default) key which points to the while path and executable of uftree.exe and another PATH key that just includes the drive and folder information.
