The "children's box" lists the children that you have linked to the individual, and can be used to jump to a child's individual window. If there are no children then it will say "none". If you want to put anything there, you have to link a child record. You could create a dummy child called "not researched", but that would be poor practice. If you wish that "fact" to appear in a report, it should go in a text box, either as straight text (to be printed in the body of a Family Journal) or in a Footnote (to be printed as an endnote), or in a research note (to be printed only if you are printing research notes, usually in reports just for your self).
