First you need to add it to your Multimedia Library.

Select "Build" from you main menu bar, Then "Multimedia Library" and select "New" in the "Add Media" box.

Select "OLE" in the "Media Type" and then the "OLE" button in "Add Media from" - an OLE import window will open.

Go to your top menu bar and select "Edit" and then "Insert Object".

Select "Microsoft Word Document" from the scrolling list and then click on the "File" button.

You can then tell the program where the file is at and once it is selected click on the "Insert" button.

The document will appear in the small import window. You can click the "OK" button once or close the import window and then give the file a reference name, file name, date etc. You can also add a caption and description if you want to.

Then click on "OK" again and you are done. The document is now one of the items in your media library. You can preview it by clicking on the Play - "OLE" button and can also edit it if you wish. Any editing you do at this point will not affect the original document - where-ever it is at. Click the "OK" to close the Multimedia Library window.

It can now be attached to any individual you choose. Just select the "More" button on the individuals screen and then the Media Tab.

Select "Existing Media" from the Add media link box and then highlight the media you want in the Media window and click the "Add" buttom. Then click "OK". The media in now attached to the individual. It can be previewed here also.

Click "OK" and you are done.

I am not sure of the value of attaching a word document in this way, but it can be done. I have never found a way to have it printed out in association with the individual or in any report. Good luck!!
