I would suggest your going directly from Roots3 to TMG (DO NOT GEDCOM -- use the GENBRIDGE via TMG). From what I understand, things transfer very well and your data within Roots III is still untouched, so if the first transfer doesn't work for some reason, you can try it again. I would not suggest your going to UFT if you have not used it --just another learning curve. I would not suggest your going to Roots IV or V ... again, learning curves. You may as well just have one learning curve (TMG) and then stick with a good program. ;)
