I use FTM v. 7.5, and you will have to use a GEDCOM to transfer data. Why pay $68+ for it--it's not worth it. I got an excellent deal by buying an old copy--v.5 with rebate--when the new version was 6. I later upgraded. It makes excellent charts--better than my version of UFT. IMHO, UFT is an improvement over FTM (which I'm getting tired of). And I can't do in FTM what I'm using UFT for (which are few ancient genealogies--for pure fun). Why not take advantage of the almost unbeatable offer of going to TMG? Even if you later decide you don't want to use the program, its probably worth it to have it as a backup. And you should loose no data.
