Bob and Cliff ---

I have had version 3.0 of the UFT for more than two months and have not installed it yet. I am continuing to use ver 2.9 even though there are some features that I would like to explore in 3.0. I have not installed it because of the bugs which have been reported on this (and the old) forum.

It has be previously reported that it was policy that updates would not be issued unless data would be at risk. I do not feel that this policy is acceptable. If I buy a car and the paint is defective, the manufacturer will repair it at their expense. I do not have to purchase a new car to get a car without a defective job!

My solution to this polciy will be simple. If they do not issue a free update to 3.0 to correct the bugs, I will never buy another piece of software (or any other product) from this company again.

I do not feel that I should have to purchase bug fixes. Otherwise, there is absolutely no incentive for the production of a product without defects. When I was working, we strived for ZERO DEFECTS and when we did not meet that goal, we (the company) absorbed the cost to correct our mistake.
