Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

On Topic, The late, lamented UFT board

It seems that this message board has run its course as a place to discuss UFT. Be aware that the Genealogy.com Webmaster is yanking serious, but unsophistcated, postings even as we reply to them if they seem to be about the online competition.

Perhaps those of us who are in the process of jumping off the UFT ship into the closest available ark might keep that in mind.

Ironically, I just spent a couple of hours trying to educate myself on the workings of Genealogy dot com's "flagship" genealogy software so that I might answer a question for a user on another board, and came away shaking my head in disbelief that they dumped UFT and kept FTM.
