"If one product is doing better in the market than another, they would then need to decide what do to and what makes best sense for their company"
Perhaps if G.c had gotten off their collective backsides and promoted the program, updated the website occasionally and properly supported and debugged the thing, perhaps it would have done just fine in the market. Folks couldn't even get the thing sent to them after they ordered it online. G.c killed the program by allowing it to wither on the vine. Plain and simple. A very calculated and deliberate move. Your defense of this pathetic excuse for a marketing decision is becoming tiresome. Your (now former) customers have sensed it for a long time but cared enough about the program to stick around and hope. Just remember G.c, your bone headed move will be another company's gain. Genealogists are a very loyal and chatty lot and we share what we like and what we don't. That's what makes boards such as this, newsgroups, mailing lists etc, so successful in the genealogy community. We like to share with our fellow researchers. G.c is not going to be getting rave reviews to say the very least!
