Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Would genealogy.com subcontract?

Messr. Burchfield, please inquire for us if you organization would entertain contracting for the correction of several outstanding bugs in UFT 3.1. Several of those I have listed in the past should be trivial to repair but important to those users who would like to stay with UFT for a while. I suggest the arrangement would be to have your experienced UFT programmers prepare the fixes and make the first test and a group of users would do the regression testing, similar to a real beta test, and then distribute/sell the final version patch with a royalty paid to g.c. I suspect there would be a core of users who would be willing to contribute funds to such an operation, but the willingness of g.c to participate in such an arrangement would have to be known before any such group of users could be created.

Please understand that I am asking this question because I believe such a community of users could be mobilized, not because of any personal intent to continue using UFT ad infinatum.

Dick
