I think you might have hit the problem on the head. Windows does NOT like "." in Directory titles.
Did you use New install or Update/overwrite your existing UFT2.8?
FIRST STEP - BACKUP, BACKUP, B-A-C-K-U-P your existing Files from UFT2.8 just in case!!!!
If a NEW Instal, UNINSTALL your existing copy of UFT 3
If an Update or Overwrite oif UFT 2.8 DO NOT UNINSTALL as you will loose al your files.
Create a NEW DIRECTORY UFT3 under C Drive. This will show on your computer as C:\UFT3.
NOW INSTALL your NEW UFT3.0 into this directory.
DO NOT put the UFT3 Icon on your Desktop. If you do you may find, as I did, that neither 2.8 nor 3.0 will open. Instead, you will get the message "Cannot open UFT another version is already open."
So, make SURE that you do NOT let that icon go to Desktop.
You can open the new UFT 3.0 by clicking on UFT.EXE which you will find in the UFT3 Directory you just created and installed the program.
When you get it to work properly go to the UFT page and DOWNLOAD the UFT 3.1 UPGRADE and instal that over UFT 3.0.
When you have done this, then OPEN UFT and OPEN NEW PROJECT. At this stage you will need to browse and find you Project in UFT 2.8 aand VALLA! you will be up and running.
You now see why I said DO NOT uninstall UFT 2.8 IF you usae the Update/Overwrite install of UFT 3.0. You will also see why I said BACKUP.
