John, This is really the heart of the difference. In UFT 2-3 there are to modes of user interface. A normal mode, which is much like you have been useing in 1.x. And a advanced mode. The advanced mode gives you two detail fields for event info like church name in a marriage. In burial I think in 1.x there is a place for the cemetery name. In advanced is another field for location in the cemetery. In normal mode you have only principal roles or only one. In advanced you can have as many as you like. Many are in the programe already but you can add more if you wish.

Also in the advanced mode you can preview the role sentence and make changes to the code for each time the event is used or edit the template so all are changed. All except the birth event, which is hard coded for the Ind Record.
