Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

That is the way the program is designed. Even though you can attach a footnote to each detail in the event window it collects them all and prints them out as one endnote for the event. For this reason, I do not bother putting citations in the detail evidence fields and only use the overall event evidence. If I feel it is important to note where a particular detail came from I will put something in the event text. It sure is better than not citing sources at all like what occurs with most stuff I find on the internet.
