The point is: That the install program for the update FOUND THE CORRECT DIRECTORY on its own. The installation of the ver3.0 of the program was done for the VERY first time less than an hour previously! The installation was not performed as an upgrade to an existing version. No patch for the tutorial bug was applied. Granted there was ver 2.9 installed on the machine but it was even on a different drive. How much simplier can it be to write a patching program to correctly apply an upgrade?
Remember that this is not the first time most of us have a applied an upgrade to UFT and hence it is not the first time that they have prepared one. I know that I upgraded from 2.0 to 2.8 seven times and never had a problem. As I recall there was some problems getting the downloads from the website to some users' computers but once the download was sucessfull, the update were uneventful.
