Kal,
Citations are used to provide source information for part of a block of text. If your individual or event "story" quotes or derives some of the information from one source, and other information from other sources, you can put a specific citation after each specific bit of information. This is all good documentation practice.
Unfortunately, UFT 3.0 does not handle citations within a block of text correctly when producing an RTF file, such as when you send the Family Journal report directly to Word or WordPerfect. Any text after a citation seems to get replaced by blanks.
Three possible workarounds:
1. Use an earlier version of UFT to produce FJ reports.
2. Put your source information in the Footnote for the text. This, however, would suggest that the entire text block, or the entire event data, came from this source.
3. Don't use the RTF form, i.e. print directly to paper, or go through the UFT editor.

For many of us, only the first option gives us the flexibility we feel we need for Family Journal reports. If you don't have an earlier version, a number of special deals from companies wanting to get rid of old stock cheap have been noted on this board.

But that is a stupid way for a company to deliver a major type of output from their product. (Almost a year after it was released.)

Pierce
