As you seem to frequently use the words "spun off" when relating to this issue would you be so kind as to inform us what the exact legal terminology is for these words, insofar as they are related to this matter.
Is there still some sort of legal/financial connection to TLC or Mattel? Did some wealthy benefactor come in all of a sudden and BUY these companies,(FTM UFT etc) and create Genealogy.com?
Is is a publicly owned company where one can buy stocks in it? It is a privately owned company? Is it a company at all? Is it listed on the stock markets? What are the (your) legal definitions of Genealogy.com, insofar as a commercial entity is concerned?
"Spun off" seems to be a rather ambiguous word and could be more clearly defined for many of us.
